= About This Wiki =

A wiki is a collection of web pages that the users can modify. This means that you can add, remove and change anything that you see here! Of course, with this power comes also responsibility. Remember that it is in all our interests to maintain a nice and well-functioning internal web. However, don't be afraid of editing - ''it is always possible to change back to a previous version of the page''.

== Guidelines for Editing ==
When editing any page in the wiki, please follow these guidelines:

 * All pages should be in english.

 * When changing several separate things on the same page, it is generally a good idea to do them one at a time and save between the changes.

 * Use the ''preview'' function before saving your changes.

 * When adding or changing links, ''make sure that they work''.

 * Generally, try to avoid changing the name of pages since that breaks all the links to them. If you do change a page name, make sure that you update the links pointing to that page.

 * When writing in a discussion context, please sign with your name. For example:
   * I think this page should be deleted /Nyquist
   * Bode: I disagree, this page is useful to me.

 * Don't be afraid to change or remove irrelevant information!

== Features ==

 * You can subscribe to pages on the internal wiki. This means that you receive an e-mail every time that the page is modified. For example, you may subscribe to the "Away from department page" if you don't want to miss any information about when people are going to be away or stay at home etc. To subscribe to a page, you just have to click on "subscribe" in the menu bar (next to "edit") when you're looking at the page you'd like to subscribe to. An alternative to email subscription is to use the RSS feed on the RecentChanges page. You can then use any RSS reader to see that something has happened on the wiki, is you change 'ddiffs' to 'diffs' in the url you will also get a small diff in the feed and not just a message that ''something'' has changed. The possible drawback is that you will see changes on the complete wiki, it is not possible to get a feed for just one specific page.

 * It is possible to include Latex code on a wiki page. Just add something like: 
   {`{`{#!latex <<BR>> $\int\limits^{\inf}_{x=0}\frac{1}{2\phi}$ <<BR>> }`}`}.

 * In the same way, you can add html code. This could be useful e.g. for more advanced layout than the wiki code admits, or if you would like to add existing html pages to the wiki. Just use:

 * If you have attached a file to a wiki page and want to add a link ''directly to the file'' (instead of the attachment dialogue), you can write

A Wiki is a collaborative site, anyone can contribute and share:

 * Edit any page by pressing '''<<GetText(Edit)>>''' at the top or the bottom of the page
 * Create a link to another page with joined capitalized words (like WikiSandBox) or with {{{[[words in brackets]]}}}
 * Search for page titles or text within pages using the search box at the top of any page
 * See HelpForBeginners to get you going, HelpContents for all help pages.
 * WikiCourse is a tutorial that walks through most features in this wiki.
 * HelpOnSmileys will show you how to make B) >:> and {OK}
